Frasier reddit - Columnist Derek Mann. Maybe just me, but I wish the series had continued with a longer running feud between Frasier and Seattle columnist Derek Mann. Daphne Returns is one of my top three episodes. It shines like a beacon in the lackluster season 8. What sells it is the brilliant dialogue between Frasier and Niles when the former tries to get Niles to see Daphne for who she really is. I don't have any problem with them getting together. Its just it was handled poorly in season 8.I love Frasier as much as anyone, but there's lowbrow humor throughout its run. Early Martin, Eddie, Roz jokes, Bulldog, Daphne fat jokes, the list goes on. Not to mention the slapstick (which I love). Frasier's reputation as some brilliantly written show that only geniuses can understand is frankly ridiculous. Frasier is massively flawed and actually quite a ridiculous person. How forgiving you are depends on your own personality. Obviously the show is hilarious, but the constant questioning of Frasier's relevance as a human being makes it much more than just a comedy. Regarding the creators' intent, I can not decide.
